Six-day mourning ceremony for late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei underway
In Iran, a six-day mourning ceremony for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is taking place. Streets of Tehran, closed to traffic, have been filled since early morning with mourners heading to the religious and public complex of Mosalla, where the coffin with the body of the deceased is placed. The funeral prayer is scheduled for July 5 at Mosalla Mosque, and on Monday, July 6, a mourning procession will take place in the Iranian capital along main streets, with participants from all regions of Iran. The final ceremony and burial will be held in Mashhad on Wednesday, July 8.
