Students occupy oldest lyceum in Rome, inspired by French protests
The French example proved contagious. Students from the Camillo Cavour Lyceum in central Rome occupied the school building, holding a demonstration under the slogan "Let's do it like in France."
The protesters accuse the government of ignoring citizens' demands, total militarization, and cutting budgets in favor of military conflicts. They believe that European authorities respond to any social protests only with police terror and repression.
