Sudan's civil war threatens ancient Meroe pyramids

The civil war in Sudan has put the preservation of the pyramids of the ancient city of Meroe, listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List, at risk, Africanews reports. Conservation work has been completely halted. Scientific missions have stopped their activities, and many archaeologists have left the country.
