Suspect in jewelry store robbery arrested within 24 hours
The suspect in an armed robbery at a jewelry store was apprehended within 24 hours. Criminal investigators from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with colleagues from Minsk and with support from the 'Almaz' Special Purpose Police Unit and OMON, detained the suspect. The man, wearing a medical mask and threatening staff with an object resembling a pistol, stole jewelry and fled. After the alarm button was activated, the suspect's description was immediately distributed to all police units, with surveillance footage from the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs aiding coordination. Joint efforts led to identifying the suspect within a day—a 34-year-old Minsk resident attempting to flee the country with the stolen goods.
