The Telegraph writes that Putin is in a weakened position, and attempts by American envoys to extend him a helping hand are alarming. The publication considers any pressure on Kyiv to make territorial concessions to Moscow an insult to Ukrainians and a risk of a broader war in Europe.

It is noted that Witkoff has visited Moscow multiple times and Kyiv only once. According to the author, this does not look like balanced mediation.

In Moscow, Trump's envoys smiled conspicuously and praised Putin. In Kyiv, their meetings with Zelenskyy appeared awkward. The Telegraph believes this may confirm concerns that U.S. support for Ukraine under Trump remains more declarative than real.
