There must be order in the forest — Lukashenko on new head of Forestry Ministry

"There must be order in the forest. Forestry and agriculture are all we have today," said the head of state, addressing the newly appointed head of the Ministry of Forestry. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that unlike industry, which operates under shelter, forestry and agriculture are exposed to weather conditions. "Somewhere it's too dry, and bark beetles spread across trees. Somewhere it's flooded — hard for farmers. We must pay more attention to these sectors." He noted that timber is not always harvested or processed in time, including planned cuts and windfall after storms. "You must act promptly, mobilize. I know you lack personnel — then make proposals. You need a clear plan: where, how many, and what kind of workers to send to harvest timber on time and prevent spoilage. All of it must be processed," the Belarusian leader instructed.
