Two Australians cross dangerous strait on a toilet-turned-raft to save money
Two Australians decided to save on delivery and set out to sea… on a toilet. The friends built a raft, attached a motor, and crossed the dangerous Backstair Passage in four hours to reach Kangaroo Island. The regular ferry covers the same route in just 45 minutes. In open water, they grilled meat and used the toilet for its intended purpose. In the end, instead of spending two thousand Australian dollars, they spent only time and barbecue coals.
