US Army sharply reduces its presence on social media
According to a memorandum from Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, the number of official accounts will be significantly reduced. Commanders have been ordered to delete all unauthorized pages within 30 days.
Now, only fewer than 30 top-level organizations will be allowed to maintain accounts. Many military units and bases, including those that provided information on safety and road conditions, will lose their digital presence.
The Pentagon stated that the goal of the change is to ensure a 'single voice' for the Army and reduce risks.
