US Army to Receive Fewer Patriot Missiles in 2027 Due to Rising Costs

The US Army will receive fewer interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense systems in 2027 due to rising prices, despite the need to replenish stocks depleted by conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, according to budget documents reviewed by RIA Novosti. The price increase has already affected the 2025 order: initially, $885.7 million was expected to buy 230 missiles, but after a cost review, the number was reduced to 194. Deliveries of this batch will begin in September 2027.
