US drone makers struggle to meet domestic demand without imports

New punitive tariffs on drone imports from China will do more harm than good to the United States, The New York Times reports. The Donald Trump administration imposed tariffs ranging from 10% to 100% on ready-made drones and components to reduce technological dependence on China. However, the US drone industry is currently physically unable to independently meet domestic market demand. Additional fees will only complicate operations for local companies and slow industry development.
