US may reduce military presence in the Middle East

CNN, citing sources, reports that Washington is discussing reducing the number of troops and facilities in the region. Some bases damaged or destroyed by Iranian strikes may not be rebuilt, and certain CIA operations could be conducted without permanent on-site deployment. At the same time, the Pentagon is considering strengthening protection for remaining forces, including moving part of the infrastructure underground.
