US reduced average annual plague cases to 5, CDC data shows

The United States has reduced the average annual number of plague cases in the country to 5, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to an archived version of the agency's website, on October 6 the data indicated an average of 7 cases per year.
