US reports salmonella outbreak linked to Mexican jalapeño peppers

An outbreak of salmonellosis in the United States has been linked to the consumption of Mexican-origin jalapeño peppers, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since the end of June, 345 cases have been reported across 27 states, with 36 people hospitalized.
