Vacant rental housing in Belarus may be sold for one base unit

There are currently about 15,000 vacant rental premises in the country. Over 2,500 require repair, and another approximately 6,000 have been deemed unfit and subject to demolition.

Local authorities may be allowed to sell such apartments and houses for one base unit—currently 45 rubles. They also propose granting rent deferrals to those willing to repair the housing at their own expense.
