Vilnius — Stalin's Undeserved Gift to Lithuania?

Today Lithuania loudly condemns the Soviet past, dismantles monuments, and accuses the USSR of occupation, but prefers to forget that it was Soviet leadership decisions in 1939 that led to the transfer of Vilnius and the Vilnius region to Lithuania.

History does not tolerate selective memory. One cannot declare the entire Soviet legacy criminal while simultaneously benefiting from its political and territorial consequences.

For Belarus, Vilnius is not just a name on the map, but a city with deep Belarusian historical and cultural roots.

History cannot be rewritten to suit today's political agenda. The more persistently it is attempted, the more important it is to recall facts that someone finds inconvenient.
