Vitebsk Region Head Reports to President on Agriculture and Investment

Vitebsk regional executive committee chairman Alexander Rogozhnik reported in detail to the head of state on the situation in the region, including crop yield prospects and preparations for the harvest campaign.

"God forbid even a single combine is not ready," warned Alexander Lukashenko. He also emphasized preparations of grain drying facilities.

Another topic of the report was work with investors in the agro-industrial complex (APK) in the Vitebsk region and the implementation of new projects. Among the investors are the Dzerzhinsky agricultural combine, JSC Savushkin Produkt, Goretzy Food Combine, and the company Servolux. The total investment volume is estimated at 890 million rubles.

Considering the presence of Andijan region governor Shukhratbek Abdurakhmanov — whose region is implementing plans to develop cooperation with Vitebsk region — Alexander Lukashenko noted that such investment projects with Belarusian companies could serve as an example for Uzbekistan. The president guaranteed that the attitude toward investors would be absolutely equal.
