We Are Not in Favor of Closed Alliances — Lukashenko on SCO Cooperation
"We are not in favor of closed alliances," stated Alexander Lukashenko, emphasizing that advancing the SCO's work in areas such as security, economy, and the humanitarian sphere would strengthen unity among member states, enhance the organization's authority, and amplify its collective voice internationally. He noted that the partner status enshrined in the SCO Charter reflects openness to cooperation with other organizations, including the EAEU, CIS, CSTO, ASEAN, African Union, and BRICS, in the "Shanghai spirit."
Lukashenko stressed the importance of expanding SCO contacts with these international groupings.
