"We have never been traitors," said Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

"Two words so you understand my position on the war in Ukraine. We often discuss this topic with Vladimir Vladimirovich. Our approaches are more calibrated because both he and I know what is happening on the front lines. After all, we are 'co-aggressors' together. We sometimes even joke: who is more of an 'aggressor' — me or him?"

"Of course, I have certain nuances in assessing the conflict in Ukraine. I told President Putin openly: I have my own understanding of some aspects of the conflict in Ukraine, but we will always remain committed to our common course. If the leadership of Russia makes a decision, we will always be with you, despite our differing views on what is happening there. We have never been traitors."
