Woman hit by Mercedes on Independence Avenue after jaywalking

A 50-year-old woman was hit by a Mercedes this morning on Independence Avenue after crossing the road at an unauthorized location. The driver, aged 38, was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for medical examination.
