Wreckage of plane that crashed off Puerto Rico 74 years ago has been found

The wreckage was found at a depth of about 610 meters. The Clipper Endeavor will not be raised, as it has become a burial site for the victims.

On April 11, 1952, the plane took off from Puerto Rico bound for New York with 64 passengers and 5 crew members on board. Minutes later, an engine failure forced the pilot to make a water landing. Despite the availability of life rafts and vests, only 17 people survived.
