Zelenskyy reportedly faces rift between top military and defense ministry

Zelenskyy has complained about a 'war' between Armed Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi and Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian media report, citing sources. According to them, meetings of the Supreme Commander's headquarters have turned into verbal battles, with the military and the ministry 'living in two different worlds.' At one point, the military leadership reportedly issued an ultimatum to Zelenskyy — either them or Reznikov's team. Instead of Reznikov, Zelenskyy plans to propose Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko for the post of defense minister, who, in the president's opinion, will be able to 'restore order' in the system of military personnel recruitment.
