Overview
Rising 60 meters above the gentle Belarusian countryside, the Neo-Gothic Church of the Holy Trinity in Gervyaty is one of the most visually striking buildings in the country. Often called the "Belarusian Notre-Dame," this red-brick masterpiece is surrounded by a beautifully maintained park with sculptures and manicured gardens.
History
Built at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, the church required such dedication that a brick factory was opened specifically for its construction. Local legend says the mortar was reinforced with thousands of eggs donated by villagers, giving the walls extraordinary strength that has kept them intact for over a century.
What to see
The soaring 60-meter spire visible from kilometers away. The surrounding sculptural park. Active Catholic parish with regular services — one of the most atmospheric places of worship in Belarus.
