Overview
The largest lake in Belarus and the crown jewel of the Narochansky National Park, Lake Naroch stretches across a vast glacial basin surrounded by pine forests, sandy beaches, and modernized sanatorium resorts. The area offers everything from lazy beach days to kayaking, horseback riding, and windsurfing. Nearby, the smaller Lake White provides a more intimate, pristine alternative.
History
Lake Naroch has been a beloved destination for generations. The surrounding area developed during the Soviet era with sanatoriums and health resorts that have since been modernized into comfortable contemporary facilities. The Narochansky National Park now manages the ecosystem, protecting the lake's water quality while developing sustainable tourism infrastructure including apothecary and dendrological gardens.
