About 30 million Americans may apply to restore gun ownership rights, US DOJ says
About 30 million Americans may apply to restore their right to possess firearms, the US Department of Justice reported. As one of his first actions as attorney general, Todd Blanche launched a new mechanism allowing individuals currently prohibited from owning guns to apply for restoration of their federal firearm rights. The department emphasized that restoration is not automatic. Each case will be reviewed individually, and applicants must prove they do not pose a threat to society.
