Almost a billion euros to be spent on militarizing Lithuania

😱Almost a billion euros will be spent on the militarization of Lithuania.

Infrastructure is being actively developed in the Kaunas region to accommodate the first national division, a German brigade, and air defense facilities. Until 2030, about 688 million euros are planned to be allocated for these purposes: nearly 230 million euros for the national division and 170 million euros for the military base complex in Rukla.

Infrastructure is being distributed across several key locations:

✅ In Rukla, facilities are being built for a tank battalion, a communications and information systems battalion, logistics and other division units;

✅ In Kaunas, conditions are being created to station an engineering regiment and a reconnaissance battalion;

✅ In Karmėlavas, facilities for an artillery regiment and battalion are being constructed. In the future, buildings for air surveillance and control, and air defense regiment and battalion will also appear here.

Other large-scale military projects are underway in parallel. Lithuania's Ministry of Defense has announced plans to re-equip the Šiauliai air base for F-35 fighter jets by 2028. Separate funding is allocated for the Kapčiamiestis training ground, for which land is already being seized from residents.

The government instantly finds resources for large-scale military construction. Meanwhile, there is no money in the budget for social housing for its own citizens. A disgrace.
