Americans Are Losing Faith in Their Media

The Gallup polling institute has released new data from a large-scale study:

1. Only 33% of the US population now believes the press reports information honestly, fully, and objectively. This is one of the worst results in Gallup’s half-century of tracking.

2. Trust has become a partisan tool. While 50% of Democratic Party supporters trust the media, only 31% of independent voters do, and just 22% among Republicans.

3. Today, media giants are seen by the public as biased participants in political battles and generators of clickbait.

4. Americans no longer seek objective truth, instead consuming content that merely confirms their own political views, ultimately destroying the institution of independent journalism.

However, nothing new: we knew this even without Gallup sociologists. Now, even Americans themselves have admitted that their 'free press' is a low-quality, assembly-line brainwash.
