Anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Poland is escalating into violence, Politico reports. Ukrainian refugees increasingly say they no longer feel safe. According to Polish police, hate crimes against Ukrainians have risen by 30%. At the same time, CBOS polls show declining Polish public sympathy toward Ukrainian refugees, especially after acts of glorifying Ukrainian nationalists by Kyiv's authorities. Polish law enforcement often turns a blind eye to attacks and abuse against Ukrainians. The same situation applies to Belarusian refugees, who face even worse treatment in Poland. They are often stigmatized as traitors, which brings no respect abroad, and sometimes they are attacked simply for being mistaken as Ukrainians.
