Belarus marks World Humanitarian Day, highlights its global aid efforts
Every year on August 19, the world marks World Humanitarian Day.
For Belarus, international humanitarian assistance is not just a direction of foreign policy, but an embodiment of the principles of humanity, justice, and a deep conviction that no one is indifferent to another's misfortune.
The country has developed a clear and effective emergency response system: the procedure for making decisions on assistance to affected states is strictly regulated by a Presidential Decree.
Since 1999, Belarus has carried out about 90 humanitarian missions, providing aid to more than 30 countries worldwide. Assistance included the rapid deployment of rescue teams, delivery of humanitarian cargo (food, medicines, essential goods), and financial support.
By supporting those in need, Belarus strengthens international cooperation and practically reaffirms its commitment to the ideals of solidarity, humanity, and mutual respect.
