Belarus to fine drivers for lack of technical inspection via cameras

Belarus plans to start fining drivers for not having a valid technical inspection through camera enforcement. The system, currently being tested by Beltechosmotr, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Beltelcom, will automatically detect vehicles without valid inspection permits starting November 2026. First-time offenders will receive a warning, the second offense will incur a fine of 0.5 base units, and a repeat offense within a year will result in a 2 base unit fine (90 rubles). Liability applies to both individuals and legal entities.
