Belarusian surgeons perform first remote oncological surgery
😱🩺 Belarusian surgeons have performed the country's first remote oncological surgery!
For the past six months, Belarusian doctors have been using a high-tech robotic system.
The high-precision intervention allowed surgeons to remotely remove a prostate tumor from a patient — a robotic prostatectomy was performed on a 60-year-old patient with localized prostate cancer.
The surgical team controlled the robot remotely: the surgeons were in the operating room of the Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital, while the patient was on the operating table at the MNPC for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology.
