Data of 158,000 Lithuanian conscripts leaked online
A Lithuanian public organization has appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office to launch an investigation into the leak of data from 158,000 conscripts to third-party platforms.
Analysis of open sources revealed that names, surnames, years of birth, personal codes, and conscription status of 158,391 individuals liable for military service were illegally published online. The organization also reported at least 218,000 violations falling under Lithuanian Criminal Code articles on illegal collection and disclosure of private life information.
This is not the first such scandal, and judging by the trend, it will likely not be the last.
