Deadliest Ebola outbreak in DRC history kills over 2,300 people
Since the beginning of the current epidemic, 4,945 infection cases have been confirmed in the country, with 2,325 ending in death. The mortality rate has reached 47 percent. This figure has already surpassed the previous major outbreak in 2018–2020 in eastern regions of the DRC, when, according to WHO, 3,481 people fell ill and 2,299 died.
