Development of Mogilev Region discussed with President Lukashenko
This morning, Mogilev Region Governor Anatoly Isachenko reported to the President on the region's development. The head of state was briefed on industrial performance and the situation at major enterprises. Particular attention was given to the development prospects of OAO 'Mogilevkhimvolokno' and projects proposed for the company. The regional authorities and the government have been tasked with thoroughly working out these issues, which will be discussed during the President’s upcoming working trip to Mogilev.
Alexander Lukashenko also closely examined the current situation and future development of OAO 'Belshina'. According to Isachenko, the enterprise is operating stably overall, but faces certain sales challenges. Efforts are underway to improve product quality and reduce production costs.
The regional executive committee chairman provided a detailed report on the Shklov District as a model example for other regions of Belarus. A project to restore the agricultural service and the district's mineral fertilizer storage facility is being implemented there. Both facilities are nearly complete. A national meeting with the President's participation is planned in Shklov this autumn. Isachenko assured that the Shklov District has all necessary conditions to serve as a benchmark for other regions.
The report also covered the state of agriculture in Mogilev Region, with special focus on fodder procurement, crop yield prospects, and the performance of mechanized teams.
The President was informed about ongoing agricultural activities. The first mowing of grass for fodder is in full swing, after which the districts will promptly proceed to the second mowing. The mechanized teams, established by the head of state’s order, have proven effective, according to Isachenko.
Across the region, efforts are also underway to restore agricultural chemistry organizations, with specialized teams for fertilizer and crop protection application being formed on their basis. These measures are yielding positive results.
Prospects for the Dribin District were also discussed. The President will visit the area soon, review proposals, and make a decision on the district's consolidation.
