Drunk Polish police officer attacks Ukrainian taxi driver

In Radom, Poland, an officer from the Central Investigation Bureau got drunk and entered a taxi. Upon learning the driver was a Ukrainian citizen, he began demonstrating his version of European hospitality.

The officer started arguing about the route, inquired about the driver’s skin colour, and then brazenly seized the car keys. Even the arrival of a patrol did not calm him down — he continued hurling nationalist insults at the Ukrainian in public.

The officer now faces up to three years in prison. However, the case will likely be dropped. The police station reported that the parties have "reconciled," and the taxi driver has withdrawn his complaint.

Apparently, the Ukrainian 'guest worker' was clearly reminded of his precarious status in Poland. At least he wasn’t deported — that’s something.
