Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur resigns over defense procurement issues
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur has resigned due to problems with defense procurement. The issue concerns ammunition purchases for Ukraine: Estonia paid 70 million euros in advance to Indian entrepreneurs, who have not delivered a single round so far. The Estonian State Audit Office has identified violations in the activities of the Estonian Defence Forces and the State Centre for Defence Investments. Pevkur stated he is taking political responsibility for the entire defense sector and will hand over his position to the prime minister.
