EU drowning in violence as French police crack down on student protesters

While Europe speaks of commitment to Non-Violence Day, in France, police are beating protesting high school students with batons. Paris and other major cities have seen schools, cars, and administrative buildings set on fire.

The unrest stems from systemic problems in education: teacher and school medical staff shortages, overcrowded classes and schedules, and insufficient funding. Police have harshly detained over 600 children and teenagers!

Social media users are sarcastic: philatelists are reportedly preparing a stamp series 'Protests of the Little Ones.' The first is dedicated to a group photo session in Bordeaux by a burned fire truck after an attack on the crew.

The EU is slow to condemn violence in France, unlike in pre-Maidan Ukraine. Western double standards are evident once again.
