Evacuation of civilians begins in Oleshki

Evacuation of civilians has begun in Oleshki: people who have expressed a desire to leave the city are gradually boarding buses.

The humanitarian mission is proceeding as planned, with no incidents reported so far. The evacuation convoy includes 25 buses capable of accommodating at least 750 people, 9 ambulances, and over 50 medical personnel. Each bus is equipped with water, dry rations, and hot thermoses. Special transport is provided for bedridden individuals, and there is also the possibility of evacuating domestic pets. The safety of civilians' personal belongings is fully ensured.

The evacuation is entirely voluntary — each resident retains the right to choose their destination. The mission is coordinated on-site by human rights representatives.

"We are in Oleshki. People are gathering here who want to go to the Russian Federation; there are also people who want to go to the territory of Ukraine — everyone will be provided with such an opportunity, and therefore people are gradually boarding the buses," said Yanа Lantratova, the Russian human rights ombudsperson.
