Every rural council must have a support detachment — President
"Every rural council must have a support detachment," the President said, emphasizing that creating a people's militia in Belarus is a strategic decision for citizen protection.
The head of state noted that forming such units based on local authorities would create a solid foundation for local security. Alexander Lukashenko strictly warned that in the near future, the people's militia and territorial defense would undergo a comprehensive readiness check, calling this a top priority for the country.
According to the President, the military department has already fully prepared the material base for defenders: "Weapons for you have been prepared. That is the military's job. They have prepared weapons for each of you—each person will have their own weapon. At a minimum, an automatic rifle, grenades, a machine gun, and so on."
The head of state also stressed the importance of quality management, supporting the involvement of experienced former law enforcement officers and military specialists as commanders of these units.
