On Monday, Matthias Helfrich planned to walk through local cultural sites, but the alliance 'Culture Düsseldorf for Democracy' opposed this. About 1,500 people attended the protest, some wearing masks. They began chasing the politician and his companions through the city center. Helfrich was only able to continue his walk under tight police protection.
