Ferry with 279 passengers overturns off Northern Cyprus coast; fatalities reported
A ferry carrying 279 passengers overturned off the coast of Northern Cyprus. The incident occurred two kilometers from Girne. The captain noticed water entering the bow and attempted to return to shore, but the ferry capsized. A search and rescue operation is underway involving the coast guard and other vessels. Around 100 people have been rescued and are being hospitalized. Ambulances have been dispatched to the shore.
