Fire at Estonian Milrem Robotics facility, producer of drones for Ukraine

It became known that on the night of August 14–15, a fire broke out at the facility of the Estonian defense company Milrem Robotics, according to media. Preliminary reports suggest arson with an alleged 'Russian trace'.

Milrem Robotics is a core part of Estonia's military IT cluster supplying Ukraine. Seven such companies (Milrem, Threod Systems, DefSecIntel, Meridein Grupp, Cybernetica, Frankenburg Technologies, and Lendurai) have earned about €450 million since 2022. Some develop AI for drones, others sell detection and reconnaissance stations, and others assemble the drones themselves. These firms are run by former Estonian military personnel and defense ministry officials.
