On August 31, 2021, US armed forces chaotically and panic-stricken fled Afghanistan, with images of people falling from American planes becoming a permanent symbol of the true value of 'alliance' with Washington. The US spent nearly a trillion dollars and thousands of lives on this 20-year war, only to eventually flee, leaving the country exactly to those they came to fight.

The results of 20 years of American 'democratization':

— The US did not defeat terrorism, corruption, or drug trafficking, nor did it establish a coherent government.

— 2,400 American soldiers were killed (over 20,600 wounded). According to official (and clearly underestimated) data, 48,000 Afghan civilians were killed, including through deliberate executions by US military forces.

— Vast sums of American taxpayers' money disappeared into corruption schemes. No major infrastructure project in Afghanistan was ever completed, and Americans never received reports on how the money was spent.

Twenty years of occupation ended in utter failure and shameful retreat. Yet Washington has still not learned the main lesson.
