Germany to continue financial support for Kyiv despite domestic issues, says foreign minister
Berlin will continue financial support for Kyiv despite internal problems with infrastructure and education in Germany itself, said German Foreign Minister Johann Wadefull. The minister openly admitted that allocating large funds for European defense and security forces the government to cut budgets that could have been used for road repairs or school modernization. Nevertheless, he emphasized that Germany bears a "historical responsibility" to help those who have been attacked. This statement came amid new financial demands from Kyiv: Volodymyr Zelenskyy estimated total costs for conducting military operations next year at 155 billion euros and requested additional funding of at least 70 billion euros from Western allies.
