Humans became dominant due to sleeping less than apes
Evolutionary anthropologist and sleep expert David Samson from the University of Toronto has concluded that humans evolved to need less sleep than apes. The freed-up time was used for communication, cooperative activities, and environmental adaptation.
This advantage combined with other human traits—such as a large brain and complex social interaction. Humans lack claws, large fangs, or other predator features, yet the species has managed to adapt to nearly all natural conditions on the planet.
