Consumers in Japan overpaid nearly $8 million for electricity due to an error in billing calculations. The overpayment affected more than half of the contracts. Chubu Electric Power Corporation reported that the incident was caused by a mistake made by a customer service firm. The company will return the funds to affected customers.
