Kenya destroys over a ton of methamphetamine worth $63 million

Kenyan authorities destroyed more than a ton of methamphetamine worth about $63 million, Nairobi News reported. The drug shipment was found on a vessel intercepted by Kenyan security forces in the Indian Ocean in October 2025. Six Iranian nationals are facing charges over the smuggling. If convicted, they face up to 50 years in prison and fines in the billions of Kenyan shillings.
