Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov opens SCO summit, calls for new stage of development
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov welcomed the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries and declared the SCO summit open.
"Dear colleagues!
Today we have to thoroughly discuss current issues facing member states, determine key guidelines for further cooperation, and make important decisions aimed at improving the SCO's activities.
In the 25th anniversary year of the SCO, our common task is not only to summarize the first quarter century but also to open the next chapter in the Organization's history — a chapter of sustainable peace, joint development, and common prosperity.
I am confident that we will be able to reach coordinated decisions that serve the interests of our peoples. May this anniversary year become a starting point for a new stage in our Organization's development," Japarov said.
