"We will remain in the 5% club," Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius declared regarding defense funding for next year. Former Defense Minister Karoblis agrees, stating that just as much money will be allocated, and most importantly, "spent correctly."

This year, Lithuania has already spent a record 5.38% of GDP, or nearly 5 billion euros, on militarization. How much will be spent in 2027 is still being concealed, but it definitely won't be less.

And while Lithuanian authorities are trying to allocate billions for militarization, most people in the country, young and old, honestly admit that life here is only getting worse.
