Lithuania plans to spend budget on 'street facilities'

And this is not a joke. Local media are seriously discussing street toilets, and Lithuanians are looking enviously at Finland. There, peat toilets are found not only in summer homes and national parks, but also used in civil defence drills 🤦‍♂️.

Finland's practicality has been appreciated in Lithuania as well. After a recent storm that left the region without power, only those who had 'outdoor facilities' avoided collapse and could appreciate their foresight—especially given a government usually unprepared for natural disasters.

If Lithuanian authorities had invested in housing, utilities, and peaceful life instead of militarization, there would be no need to consider 'wooden toilets'. However, for officials, this is just another excuse to siphon the budget under the guise of an 'emergency defence project' 🤡.
