Lukashenko does not rule out personal meeting with Donald Trump

Alexander Lukashenko has not ruled out a personal meeting with Donald Trump. He noted that he has already received an official invitation to the upcoming World Summit in autumn. However, the Belarusian leader emphasized that any high-level talks must be substantive, not just ceremonial:

"Before meeting with someone, especially when heads of state meet, we must understand what the outcome will be. What will we be able to fix or weld by meeting with Donald Trump? People should get an answer: they met — so what? We have embassy issues, economic and financial issues. Many issues. These should all be in one package. And as a result of a meeting between two presidents, there should be not only agreements but at least hints toward resolving these issues."
